19-21Professional Biography
My first introduction to floodplain management was as a local community planner who was given the task of administering the County floodplain and CRS programs. Since 2007 I have worked with the State of Montana as the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) and Community Assistance Program (CAP) Coordinator.
I was tasked with re-organizing both the county and state programs. Strategic plans are an annual activity that is conducted for a number of projects and programs. I participate in a number of joint committees that are made up of local, state, and federal representatives. I started and chair the MT Stream Restoration Committee, MT Silver Jackets Committee, and the MT Floods After Fire Committee. I am also a state representative on the MT 310 Joint Permitting Committee and MT Drought Committee. Department and Emergency Service and MT Insurance Commissioners office work closely with the NFIP office.
I have provided training and helpful tools to local communities on permitting, regulations, mitigation, insurance, recovery, CRS, PPIs, and a variety of other NFIP specific information. There is never a dull moment as the NFIP/CAP Coordinator.
