webinar imageLocal-level planning provides a framework for local governments to lessen the impacts of natural disasters, including flooding. Many local governments undertake multi-hazard mitigation planning to engage their community in understanding risks and developing mitigation actions. They can increase the benefits of their planning process by designing it to also meet the floodplain management planning criteria under the Community Rating System (CRS). Integration of these processes is a win-win!

Does your community participate in the CRS? If interested in joining, or increasing your CRS points, you can design the hazard mitigation planning process to maximize CRS credit for floodplain management planning. An integrated approach can save you time and resources. It also strengthens your flood mitigation efforts. This webinar will discuss how communities can leverage their planning processes to work together. This will increase insurance benefits and advance mitigation outcomes.
