Q & A: CTP Business Plans for Mapping
Q: With the 2D modeling with rain on grid, how do you differentiate between localized rain that doesn't cause a problem and "real flooding" that should be mapped?
A: SEMA is applying a shore lining methodology where elevations along the conveyance lines (Stream Lines) are plotted to ground and forms a SFHA for the regulatory program. The areas beyond the SFHA are provided to local floodplain managers and officials for best available information of Pluvial flooding.
